Dr John Lennox on the Definition of Faith
Faith is not a leap in the dark; it’s the exact opposite. It’s a commitment based on evidence… It is irrational to reduce all faith to blind faith and then subject it to ridicule. That provides a very anti-intellectual and convenient way of avoiding intelligent discussion.”

The use of the definite article is misleading. As Christians should be aware, there are two very different usages for which faith must be defined: as an epistemic committment (as above), but more importantly the faith through which Christians profess to be saved.
I interpret the latter, not as an epistemic category as such, but as remaining anchored to the moral and spiritual revelation in Christ (which does not require practising it perfectly).
