Another fascinating dialogue between Christians and Muslims, chaired by Justin Brierley on the Unbelievable? radio show.
The Third Choice by Australian church pastor Mark Durie claims that Islam has a long history of oppressing those of other faiths under its power. Durie claims that when Islam conquered a nation its inhabitants could either convert, die or become “Dhimmi” – forced to pay money for their life and live in subservience to Muslims. He says that the doctrine lives on today.
Adnan Rashid of the Hittin Institute says that misrepresents the Dhimma pact. He claims that it was a peace treaty that led to mutual respect, defence and harmony for those who were non-Muslims and was part of a Golden Age of Islamic culture.

Another informative and excellent discussion chaired by Justin Brierley. Christian author Mark Durie was well-researched, cogent in his presentation and calmly objective in his manner during this discussion. This left his Muslim counterpart politely ducking and weaving and left Islam as it is practiced and lived out looking pretty shabby. Durie was unrelenting and determined in his presentation of the true face or Islam and the inability of most Muslims to accept any criticism of their faith and practices.
